Health and Well-being
Le Lay Architects design spaces that promote a healthy lifestyle and a sense of well-being. We design spaces that are comfortable to live in and easy to maintain, spaces that are generous in size, filled with natural light and a sense of openness. We want rooms to be easy to use and to move around in, free from clutter, distraction and sensory overload. An architecture that is simple, elegant, ordered, and beautiful.
There is a growing body of evidence to show how factors such as air quality, temperature, exposure to daylight, material toxicity and connection to nature have on our health and productivity. In the UK we spend the vast majority of our time inside therefore it is crucial that we design spaces that are fundamentally good for people’s health and wellbeing. If healthy buildings address our needs of the body, then buildings that promote wellbeing address the needs of the mind.
We believe that psychological health is supported by maintaining a strong connection to yourself, your environment and the people you care about. We balance spaces that encourage interaction between family members with quiet spaces for rest and retreat. We support neighbour-friendly design to foster positive interactions through well managed shared spaces and amenities.
