Project:

Grade II Victorian Town House, Chelsea

A classic Townhouse in the heart of old Chelsea. The house is Grade II Listed and dates from the second quarter of the 19th C. The house has group value with the Grade II* terrace opposite.

The owners asked us to oversee the complete refurbishment of the property including a first-floor library extension to the rear and a roof terrace overlooking the rooftops of the houses beyond. We transformed the rear space into a smart contemporary courtyard garden with access from the ground and basement floors. The design provides a fantastic sense of space, all the way from the front of the house to the rear garden. The basement dining room is flooded with natural light and a sense of openness.

The house still retains its modest grandeur and period charm. It is a great example of how a listed property can be sensitively refurbished and extended.
